-Week two-
Lessons Learned
This week I was inspired to think about the "stars and stepping stones'' along my path in entrepreneurship. This helped give me a better perspective on my journey as an entrepreneur and the necessary steps required to move forward. I realize now that the next few steps for me are much smaller than I initially thought. For example, last week I thought about a possible business idea and naturally thought that the next step would be to work on the business itself. Now, I realize that there is a lot more that needs to happen first before I can do anything like that. This week I visited the country dancing club again and was determined to ask more questions to the employees. I learned that the owner of the club was in fact, not a college student but a grown adult living in Rexburg. I also learned that the club I visited has two main competitors, a rival club on the other side of town, and the college itself which hosts weekly country dancing nights. This was new information to me as I had thought beforehand that the club went relatively unchecked and had almost all of the local market share to itself. This for me was very valuable information should I decide to continue this pursuit in the future.
Lessons not yet learned
This week's material made me think a little bit more about what the next few steps are for me in my career. Before I can decide to make the first moves into opening a business, I need experience,m and more capital to do it. That's why the next thing I am going to focus on is finding a job that can help me learn and grow within the field. I have looked around a bit and haven't found anything yet but I will continue the search this week
Conclusion
Next week I will focus on finding good jobs and continuing my research on the local country dance clubs. I still think there is a good potential business there and I would like to continue my research to better understand the market and limitations involved.
